Vienna - MAX
Product 1 Music Video
My brief is to produce a music video to a ballad for a 'primarily 16–25 year old middle and up market audience of style-conscious people.' I will target my product more towards a male audience. My music video will follow a narrative of a boy and girl trying to find each other but missing each other every time. I will use costume to make my artist and other actress to make the artist appear 'style-conscious'. The intention of my video is to promote my artist to the target audience and to create a positive representation that connects him with his fanbase. I will use a mix of static and moving camera shots, with predominantly static camera shots to effectively show the fact that the characters in the video were at the same place in different times. My song 'Vienna' will help me to portray the ballad element of the video. The song, being in the genre of 'pop rock' is stereotypically an older genre of music and that is what is coming back in the youth of today, so I believe this song would be good for that style. The target audience of my video is most likely to be interested in a love story being portrayed in a music video.

After researching websites of 1970s era music artists, I saw some codes and conventions.. I will use images of my artist looking style conscious and 'cool' to appeal to my audience. The website will include a link to the music video, as well as a behind the scenes video and interview, for my audio visual element. I will also use a 'tour' page for my second hyperlinked page. The website is to promote the artist, so the first main page will include a large picture of him, so that is that first thing you see when you open the site. I will use a stylised colour scheme and font to keep in with the style conscious nature of the audience and to keep the artist with the same vibe and style
How do you intend to link your media products to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the digitally convergent nature of your media production?
The website will promote the music video by having a link promoting it as the first image on the website and behind the scenes of the music video will be featured on the hyperlinked page. At the end of the video it will have a page with a prompt to look in the description of the video, linking to the website to encourage the audience to invest in the artist. Both the music video and the website will be constructed to promote the identity of the artist as someone with style. I will also use the same font/colour scheme across the website and video end card, and also the album cover.
